Experience Register

For most, the path to becoming a parent runs smooth, however, some people have a somewhat different experience. The NCT hold an Experience Register of members who have been through a difficult experience related to pregnancy, birth or parenthood, and are happy to offer support and a listening ear, and share what they have learned and how they coped.
This can be via the phone, by e-mail, or both, and is a completely confidential service.

If you have a specific problem during pregnancy or after the birth, or feel alone and would find it helpful to talk to someone, contact the National Childbirth Trust on 0870 444 8707 (9.00am to 5.00pm) and they will do their best to put you in touch with someone who knows what you are facing and can provide further information, useful tips or just support.

If you would like to find out more about helping others by sharing your experiences on the Register, this would be most welcome.

You need to:

• be a 'good listener'
• be able to share your experience without becoming upset
• know, or be able to find out, about support groups and further information to do with your 'experience'.

Volunteers who decide to take part in the Register will be sent a support pack to help them.
