Welwyn Garden City and District Branch NCT
If you are thinking of having a baby, are pregnant, or are parents of younger children, you could benefit from the work of the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) in Welwyn Garden City.
The NCT is a charitable organisation offering information and support in all aspects of pregnancy, childbirth and early parenthood, and the local branch covers Welwyn Garden City and surrounding areas. We aim to give every parent the chance to make informed choices and we try to make sure that our services, activities and membership are fully accessible to all.

One of the key services offered by the local branch is arranging regular antenatal classes, facilitated by experienced antenatal teachers and breastfeeding counsellors. These classes offer a great opportunity to get to know other prospective parents, as well as providing information to enable every parent to make informed choices in all aspects of childbirth.
The Welwyn Garden City and District NCT offers a network of support for parents of babies and younger children, through regular coffee meetings, "Bumps and Bundles" groups for expectant and new mums, and "Cruiser and Crawlers" for older mobile babies. These groups are a great way to meet people who live close by and share your experiences of early parenthood.
Other events run throughout the year to add to your social calendar, for example Summer Fun days, Christmas parties, social events for parents (e.g. fashion show, indulgence evening, barndance, even a ball!), as well as the popular Nearly New Sales of secondhand clothes, toys and equipment.
Branch members also receive our quarterly newletter "Twiglet" written by our members for our members, packed with important local information and interesting parenting articles.

Our branch is one of several hundred branches of the NCT. It runs as far north as Knebworth, south to Brookmans Park, west to Codicote and covers all of Welwyn, Hatfield and Welwyn Garden City, postcode areas AL6, AL7, AL8, AL9, AL10, SG3 and SG4. We currently have over 250 members, and a committee made up of local members, oversees our activities.
